Vertical lines are a fairly common issue with smartphones, and they have been seen on almost every brand available. When this problem occurs, you will typically see:
- A screen that functions well, but a thin green vertical line runs all the way from the top to the bottom.
- A flickering green line occasionally appearing.
- A green line is accompanied by other colors, splotches, and black.
What Causes a Green Line on a Mobile Screen?
There are a several possible reasons for a green line showing on a mobile screen. If the green line is accompanied by lot of other colors, and especially if you can see damage to the glass, the screen itself is probably cracked. If it’s just a single, thin green line that runs from top to bottom, some of the common causes include:
- Loose display connector
- Spoilt display connector
- Water or fall damage to the display
- Incompatible app
- Incorrect configuration

Pressing the volume button for a couple of seconds will bring up a reboot menu. Click on the “Restart” option and let your phone complete the process.
Method 2. Cycling the battery
The second solution on our list is cycling your phone battery.
This solution may prove effective if there are white lines on the screen. A battery cycle is when you charge a mobile to 100% and let it drain to 0% again. Usually, the lines will disappear soon as you charge the battery fully.
