Microsoft has finally introduced the Windows 11 2022 update, the first great update to its latest operating system since it was launched in October 2021. Dubbed as Windows 11 version 22H2, the update brings several new features and improvements to Windows 11. 


The company has started bringing out the Windows 11 2022 update in over 190 countries, and users on both Windows 11 and Windows 10 can get the update on their devices. 

Firstly, the built-in video editor has been given a huge refresh, now called Clipchamp. This editor was developed for those who just want to cut up a few seconds of video for work or class projects without making use of a full-blown editing suite. It places a strong emphasis on usability, with templates and effects available at the push of a button.

In addition, There is also a brand new feature called Windows Studio Effects. This software suite leverages proprietary artificial intelligence (AI) which helps to improve the video and audio quality in Teams calls, buffering out background noise and automatically adding blur when needed. Microsoft Photos even gets an upgrade with an improved user interface and an easier navigation system. 

Also, The notification controls have been given a welcome update, with a new Focus Session mode that automatically silences all notifications across the whole system and hides taskbar badges. 

The File Explorer also can now use tabs just like an Internet browser, Snap layouts can use touch gestures, and the system now offers suggested and complementary actions. For example, when copying a phone number, the system will suggest creating a calendar date to set up a meeting. 

How to install Windows 11 2022 update

  • Launch settings and click on “Windows Update”.
  • If the update is visible, tap “Download & install.
  • If the update is not visible, tap “Check for updates”.
