This article explains how to accept a shared album invitation on the iPhone. You can create shared albums yourself, but to enjoy those created by other people, you have to accept an invitation.
How to Accept a Shared Album Invitation on iPhone
Note: You need to have Shared Albums enabled from Settings > Photos > Shared Albums to accept invitations.
1. After the owner of the album sends you the invitation, a notification should appear on your screen or in Notification Center. Once it does, tap it.
2. If the notification doesn’t appear, tap the Photos app.
3. Depending on your notification settings, you may see a badge on the Photos app icon when there’s a pending invitation.
4. If you’re not taken to it right away, tap For You.
5. Accept the Invite:
• You’ll see a “Accept” button in the top right corner of the screen.
• Tap “Accept” to join the shared album.
6. Access the Shared Album:
• Once you’ve accepted the invite, the shared album will appear in your Photos app, under “Shared Albums.”
Note:
• You may need to update your Photos app to the latest version for this feature to work correctly.
• If you don’t see the album invite in your notifications, check the “Shared Albums” section within the Photos app.
• If you can’t find the invite, ask the person who shared the album to resend it.
Additional Tips:
• You can choose to “Subscribe” to a shared album to receive notifications whenever new photos are added.
• You can also leave a shared album by tapping on the album in “Shared Albums” and selecting “Leave Album.”
• Shared albums offer a great way to share photos with family, friends, or colleagues.
