 Presently in Nigeria, Everyone are to link their NIN ( National Identification Number) With their network provider. 

Network Providers In Nigeria are MTN, GLO, AIRTEL, 9MOBILE e.t.c.


 For months now the Government has given orders and ask everyone to link their NIN with their network providers. Then on Monday, Federal Government ordered telecommunications companies to bar outgoing calls on mobile lines not linked with the National Identification Number (NIN).

This was after subscribers were advised to register their SIM cards with NIN or face the blocking or disconnection of their lines by the end of December 31, 2020.

However, some Nigerians who possess NIN don’t know how to go about linking their phone numbers to their NIN.

Here are few steps to help you link your Phone Numbers with NIN.


How To Link Your MTN Phone Number With NIN.

To link your NIN with an MTN Phone Number, Simply dial *785# using the phone number, then you’ll see where to input your NIN then submit. OR Dial *785*NIN# you’ll receive a confirmation that your NIN has been linked successfully  or try calling on the phone number to confirm.

Visit mtnonline.com.ng/nim/ using your phone or computer then input your mtn phone number, name and your email address, click submit and wait for response from your network provider. 

How To Link Your GLO Phone Number With NIN.


According to Globacom, “all their esteemed customers can now link their National Identification Number (NIN) to their mobile numbers by simply sending ‘UPDATENIN NIN FirstName and LastName’ to 109. For example, send ‘UPDATENIN 28345678903 Chidera Abdul-Ola’ to 109.”  

Customers can dial *346# to retrieve their NIN if they have already registered with the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC).

How To Link Your 9MOBILE Phone Number With NIN.


To link your NIN with your 9mobile, dial *200*8# from your 9mobile line then enter your 11 digits NIN, Enter details then send. Wait for confirmation or your can also try calling with your numbers to see it it works fine or it’s still blocked.


To check your NIN status dial *346# from your 9mobile line.

How To Link Your AIRTEL Phone Number With NIN. 


Dial *121# from your Airtel line.

Type 1 for “NIN Capture” and send.

Enter your 11-digit NIN and send.

Wait for the message confirming your submission. If you get an error, just wait for sometime and try again.

Conclusion 

If you don’t have NIN, You can visit the nearest NIN office close to your area to get yours.  As you’ll know apart from linking NIN to phone numbers. You can use it for many things.
