Knowing how to change your name in Gmail is very useful especially if the ID that you originally choose doesn’t feel quite right. Sometimes when people create a new Gmail account, they type something silly in the username section then regret it further down the line when they realise it appears in the “sender” field on most email clients. The ability to change your ID means you can easily right any wrongs, in this instance allowing you to switch to something a little more sensible.
You can also change your name in Gmail if you made a typo when originally entering your username or you got married, rather than opening a new account to create a fresh email address. A change of name lets you retain your existing account and email address. Of course, a name change also gives you the opportunity to have some fun: there’s no limit to the number of times you can make a switch. So let’s take a look at how to change your name in Gmail in just a few easy steps

After these steps, your new name will be updated and displayed when you send emails from your Gmail account.
Keep in mind that the name you choose will be visible to the recipients of your emails. It’s best to use a name that is appropriate and reflects your professional or personal identity.
In addition, it’s important to note that changing your name in Gmail won’t affect your Google account name or other Google services. If you want to update your name across all Google services, you may need to make changes in your Google Account settings separately.
